Intervention for the Roman Gladiator SchoolThe Roman Gladiator School is currently an open archeological site across the street from the Colosseum, which exposes about half of the remains of the practice amphitheatre. In this urban and architectural intervention, I propose the regularization of the open archeological site to create a larger piazza, with an oval fountain to mimic the curve of the museum at the end of the piazza and drown out the street noise. My proposal also includes urban furniture (an ironwork loggia with bookending pavilions, an entry pavilion with accessible ramps, and a decorative railing featuring gladiatorial motifs) in the Liberté style to fit into the neighborhood which was developed at the turn of the century.
